Real Estate in the Sloans Lake MLS
Hugging its namesake park, the Sloans Lake neighborhood is a taste of lakefront living nestled at the feet of the Rocky Mountains. Just west of downtown, it’s bordered on the east by Sheridan Boulevard, on the west by Federal Boulevard, on the south by 17th Avenue and on the north by 29th Avenue.
The Homes in Sloans Lake
Architecturally, the styles range from classic brick ranches on the eastern-end to a neo-eclectic vinyl-siding community in the middle to shady bungalows on the western end. Scattered among these are classic Tudors, sprawling Victorians and angular post-moderns. The area has everything from single-family homes to bungalow-style duplexes, L- or U-shaped ranch apartment buildings to contemporary or urban-chic townhouses.
Although similar to many Denver neighborhoods, what makes Sloans Lake real estate unique is the 177-acre lake occupying the south-east corner, as well as the wide streets and well-spaced mature trees. A small aesthetic note: big sunrooms are popular around the park, which perfectly defines the sunny, open, lake-front vibe of the overall community. Homes in Sloans Lake are listed with the zip codes of 80211, 80212 and 80204.

More than a centerpiece, Sloans Lake Park graces a quarter of the neighborhood and it’s worth every inch. Even with amenities like a basketball court, bicycle/pedestrian path, boating, football field, softball field, soccer field, tennis courts, picnic area, flower gardens and two playgrounds — nothing, nothing, nothing compares to Sloan Lake, which is one of Denver’s crown-jewels. There’s no better way to end the day than looking west across that shimmering body as the sun drops behind misty mountains.
While the western view highlights mountain serenity, the east boasts city-paced excitement like Invesco Field, the Pepsi Center and LoDo. Also, to the north there’s a quaint shopping district on 32nd and Lowell in the Highlands neighborhood that’s a mixed use, Main Street-type area that draws people from all over for places like the art-house contemporary Sushi Hai or the urban-chic furnishings of Swank Space. For more mass-quantity appeal, try the fast food slanted Sheridan Boulevard with King Soopers grocery, Target and Starbucks. Both Sheridan and Federal are main thoroughfares leading to I-70, while 29th/Speer Boulevard leads to I-25.
