Part of the reason Regis seems so tucked-away is because of the I-70 barrier on the south, the Willis Case Golf Course in the middle and the Regis University – Denver in the upper right side. Another reason is the lack of amenities to draw outsiders into the area. However, although Regis lacks the quaint historic shopping spot like South Gaylord Street in Wash Park or 32nd Street and Lowell Boulevard in the Highlands, there is no shortage of neighboring amenities.
Rumored to be Denver’s newest trendy hot spot, the neighboring Berkeley is no more than a bike’s ride down Tennyson Street. From Simple Food vegetarian grocery to Bikrams Highland Yoga and Tenn Street Books, Tennyson Street may look like Main Street in a small town but it has something for every health-food-enthusiast, Pilates junky and bibliophile. Mixed in with these newer shops are authentic Mexican restaurants and historical-hip venues like The Oriental Theatre. Lowell Boulevard also has its share of sweet spots, including the authentic Café Brazil, the centrally located Safeway grocery store and the ever-present Starbucks.
If eating, drinking and stretching is way too indoors, then try the breathtaking view from atop Inspiration Point Park. During those long days of summer it’s a perfect spot to lay out a blanket and watch the sun dip behind those hazy mountains. Federal and Sheridan are both major thoroughfares that lead to I-70 and I-76.
There doesn’t seem to be any new construction happening in the Regis real estate market. However, with the Berkeley neighborhood taking off, there’s a good chance Regis is right behind
