Platt Park Real Estate, Denver
While dominated primarily by bungalows, cottage-style Tudors and lacey Victorians, Platt Park real estate is less single-family exclusive than other neighborhoods in the area. Intermingled with these older, distinguished homes, the newest properties are mostly mission-accented duplexes and square stucco-style apartment buildings. However, there's no real conflict in taste or cohesion as these styles mesh together in a shady web of trees, grass-lined streets and well-manicured lawns. The lovely South Pearl Street's shopping district also blends well with the overall tone of the neighborhood as a mixed-use street with retail and commercial properties mingling on the same block.
Homes for sale in the Platt Park neighborhood are listed with the zip code 80210. This is southeast of downtown Denver and bordered on the east by Broadway, the west by Downing Street, the south by East Evans Avenue and the north by Mississippi Avenue.

The South Pearl area is an established home of many well-respected restaurants and eateries ranging from the Best-of-Westword Sushi Den and the long-lived Pearl Street Grille to the ultra-refreshing Nosh Gelato and the gourmet Chocolate Berry Company. However, South Pearl is more than a place to stimulate the palate – it's also a haven for book and art-lovers with Bell Studio/Gallery, Old South Frame [and] Gallery, Book Buffs, and Murder by Book. Beyond South Pearl, Broadway is a mecca for all things strange and unique from catching a show at hip-and-grungy Herman's Hideaway to cruising for antiques at places like Antique Exchange and Hooked on Glass. Broadway and Buchtel Boulevard also offer prime thoroughfares to downtown and I-25. If this isn't enough, Platt Park is also a bike ride from the University of Denver, two light-rail stations, Washington Park and the Overland Golf Course.
With such a great location, proximity to public transportation and the University, Platt Park seems like an evolving community with an influx of new duplexes and apartment buildings. Ashbury Court is a ¾-acre green housing development with 17 townhomes/brownstones and 3 single-family units. The Gates Rubber Company at Interstate-25 & Broadway has relocated downtown and has sold 50 acres on the west side of Broadway to the Cherokee Denver Company. In addition, a number of other plots surrounding the area have been purchased by Joseph Freed & Associates and Trammell Crow Residential, and are in the planning phase for redevelopment. The site will be redeveloped into a mixed-use neighborhood of single and multifamily residences, and a variety of office structures. |
