The Byers real estate area is one of those classic Denver residential areas in the tradition of Wash Park, Congress Park and Cheesman. Byers is bordered on the west by Broadway, the east by Downing Street, the south by Alameda and the north by Speer Boulevard.
Byers Homes
Architecturally defined by small and large Victorians, stout bungalows, blocks of Denver squares and a variety of duplexes and high-rise apartments, the Byers neighborhood (a.k.a. West Wash Park) is a grab-bag of classic Denver architectural styles. While these styles are scattered throughout, brick apartment buildings and high-rises tend to define the north, while bungalows lay claim to the east, Victorians are to the west and duplexes to the south. Aesthetically, wide sidewalks are separated from the streets by plots of grass and mature trees making for a shady, inclusive feel. Byers real estate is pretty evenly split between single-family homes, duplexes, townhomes and apartment residences. Homes for sale in Byers are listed with zip codes which include 80213 and 80218.

Just by virtue of its location, Byers has access to some of the best that Denver has to offer. From the neighboring running/biking/relaxing heaven of Wash Park to the Golden Triangle museum district, the Cherry Creek boutique-and-salon mecca and the quaint South Gaylord Street, Byers homes are well situated for access to all sorts of amenities.
However, despite neighboring amenities, Byers is not to be outdone. Similar to Capitol Hill with small spots of retail scattered throughout, Byers has a little of everything right in its own borders. From delicious Thai Basil and classic Pete's Central on the corner of Alameda and Pearl to mixed-use Pennsylvania Street with Café Europa and Salon J, this neighborhood is wrought with great little walk-to spots. Moreover, the Byers section of Broadway is one of the hippest in the city, laying claim to indy-film haven The Mayan, hip and delicious The Hornet and the punk/rock/metal refuge Three Kings Tavern. Also, the Hungarian Freedom Park is a nice little plot of grass in the north, perfect for sitting under a summer-time tree or taking the dog for a run. There are two Light Rail Stations in neighboring Baker that connects this area directly with downtown and LoDo. Downing, Broadway and Speer are all major thoroughfares leading to I-25.
Although Byers real estate is in a prime location, it is pretty well filled in, leaving little room for expansion. All the construction seems to be single-family scrapes with a few newer neo-eclectic houses, duplexes and row houses popping up particularly in the south.
